About five inches STV, total length more than twice that. Found on a lowland forest floor in SW Sarawak. It was trying to get away, but could only move in circles, most likely to a spinal/neck injury (head permanently twisted to the left). Gonocephalus somethingsomething? Some of those change from green to brownish-black when in distress, and this one was definitely in distress.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Hans,
Couldn't this be a dark(distressed) Bronchocela cristatella?
Apparantly they do change colour.
Greetings,
Micha

Yes, 100% Bronchocela cristatella. It either fell out of a small tree or got attacked by a snake like dendrelaphis... Stress makes them brown.

Thank you all!! Fell out of a tree is what I also thought, what with its neck injury.
By the way, there 's a paper by Quah et al. that states B. cristatella also darkens considerable when mating. But I think that was definitely not the case here....
