over a year of herping FL - DUW

Post by soulsurvivor »

I joined this forum towards the end of 2008. I've been doing what I would officially call herping since 2000. Before that, I was just catching snakes in my yard. :) I didn't really begin to get into serious photography efforts until about 2008 though, so here are some of my best shots and best finds since then of the animals I have run across in my home state of Florida.....

Florida Box Turtles:

Peninsula Cooter in northeast Florida:

The above turtle was searching for a nesting site one cold spring day. Almost exactly one year later I came across it again in the same place, doing the same day, with near identical weather conditions.

Alligators from central to south Florida:

The above snake was basking on a cool spring day. I found him again once year later in the same area under AC....

That second Fl. Watersnake is jaw-dropping. Good post (insert Thumbs up smiley.)

Really nice stuff. I love snakes on white sand. Great contrast.

Soulsurvivor - Love it! THose E. Corals are fantastic! Favorite shot is the Black Vultures chowing down on the dead floating gator. That is pretty neat and there is probably a good story about that photo capture you could probably tell. The big Crotalus are most impressive as well.
