Even the "normal" wood frog pics were cool... Thanks for sharing, the scenery and animals are amazing.

I was thinking the same thing about the wood frogs. They have some neat spotting and stuff. And that anery looking frog is awesome! Cool pics of everything else as well.

Really nice post. I was up in AK in 2006 - we were nuts and went all the way to deadhorse on a whim in our rental car . The highlight of our trip were some arctic foxes about 10 miles south of the arctic ocean. I've been dying to get back up there. Hopefully next year.
I don't mean to hijack, but here's a couple photos of the fox family

that shot of that sundew (Drosera angilca) is great. I just love drosera species....
Re: Herp Inventory of Fort Richardson Military Base (DUW)
Your lack of herps is more than made up for by the abundance and quality of other wildlife. How long did it take to gather all of these photos? Was that one weekend, several months, or several years?
Very enjoyable!

Ugh. I don't know why you chose to include an ugly airplane in that post, but the rest was good;) Were the sylvatica fairly widespread, or were they limited to a narrow habitat range? No wolverine photos?

Re: Herp Inventory of Fort Richardson Military Base (DUW)
Thanks everyone.
I don't have any more photos of the strange looking wood frog, it was pouring outside and I was supposed to be working.
I didn't cross that bridge, but only because one of the supports was tied to a dead tree, so it didn't seem stable.
Cool fox photos! I would love to make it up to the north slope!
I accumulated these photos over two months. Almost all of them in Anchorage, except for a one day visit to Denali NP and a one day trip to Seward. I work outside everyday so we get to see some cool stuff.
John- I'm pretty sure they made the soldiers go across that bridge in the past (maybe it was in better shape back then?)
Wood frogs are pretty easy to find and just about anywhere near Anchorage, any habitat. Wolverines are very very hard to see in the wild. I know many avid outdoor people who have lived in Alaska their entire lives and never seen a wolverine. They are around Anchorage though, they have seen them on game cams when they bait them with carcasses.
Thanks for the replies.
