Hey guys, thanks for welcoming me into the forum from my last post. I am a Southwestern Ontario local and a very amateur herper . In December my wife and I went to Aruba for our honeymoon and I was able to photograph lots of reptiles. Unfortunately, I didn't come across any snakes. Below are some of my pics, mostly common iguanas. I believe the first one may be an Aruban Whiptail Lizard, and I understand the lighter green guys are young iguanas.
It would be interesting to hear if anyone knows anything else about these animals.
Thanks!

Yup, you got it right. Aruba Whiptail and all of the others are green iguanas. Welcome to the dysfunctional family.
Re: Aruba 2011 - My first real herping experience
I was told by the locals of a spot to find rattlers. I didn't find any but some other folks did. I personally would only go back for that reason. I thought the island was a little too much like Vegas.

And ironically, that's one of the deciding factors of choosing that destination; you see perhaps the only thing I am more enthusiastic and passionate about than herping, is playing poker. Having a casino no less than 20 steps from wherever you may be on the island was a dream for me.justinm wrote:I was told by the locals of a spot to find rattlers. Great pics, thanks for sharing!
They look like some kind of snake with legs, but the green has got me stumped. A green snake?! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Maybe someone knows more??? lol

Yes, yes I'm aware I come off as an idiot in the OP, but I was more curious as to whether I got the genus correct. Turns out, from the first answer - I did!Warren wrote:Great pics, thanks for sharing!

No worries, StuckinARutt. You come off as an intelligent and interested fellow. I was just trying to make other forum members laugh.
We sometimes have people post a species for ID with a specific request to only answer if you know what it is. These posts will often get dozens of comments, none of which are useful in any way to the original poster. That is what I was satirizing.

Figured as much. I'm no stranger to forum trolling.
