Photos Desperately Needed: Eastern Coral and TX Coral, etc.

Post by Brian Hubbs » July 24th, 2010, 7:02 pm

We are finally finishing the sorting thru hundreds of photos some of you submitted for inclusion in our revised rattlesnake guide (which is going to also include the Copperheads, Coral snakes and Cottonmouths). Right now we desperately still need good, high res., clear, non-photoshopped (nothing...do nothing to the photo) images of Osage Copperheads, Broad Banded copperheads, Texas Coral Snakes and Eastern Coral Snakes.

Remember, those who get pics published receive a free copy of the updated and expanded guide. Pics should be at LEAST 6MB when you send them. DO NOT do anything to the pic. Do NOT resize it, do not sharpen it, do not adjust color or brightness. DO NOTHING!!!!! Some of you did not follow this rule and we had to toss your beautiful pics because we could not re-size them and retain the correct pixelation. I repeat...do not photoshop your pics...please...send us the original image.

All images need to be between 2 and 9 MB. My e-mail will not receive larger images...and only one image per e-mail...please. Also, please put your name on the pic, along with what the snake is...ie. CopBB for Broad-banded copperhead. We do not need to know localities, but the state name would be nice. Please label the pics as follows:

CoralTX-TX-JoeBlow.jpg
or
CopBB-TX-BrianHubbs.jpg
or
CopO-KS-ChadWhitney.jpg

We go to the publisher after Aug 15th, so we really, really need these pics NOW. We also need those photographers who have been selected to send the release notes NOW. Thanks.
Thank you. Good luck...and I await the new onslaught...

Wait till you see the book we're making for TPWD; it's called "The Wildlife Sanctuary."

are you serious? Cause if so that would be pretty neat  I've never heard of an idea so freaking obviously stupid as declaring roadways wildlife sanctuary. Unless by sanctuary you mean death trap.

Too late, someone already did the DOR Field Guide (Flattened Fauna). A revised edition is also available.
