Hi Leeroy,
Great first post, you saw some pretty amazing stuff. The first photo of the Oropel is a real stunner. What's the story with the 2nd Fer-de-Lance, it looks a monster?
Two months is a good break, where did you get to?
Welcome to the forum. More photos please. Rags.

Nice post. You saw some great animals. I love the Corytophanes cristatus and Porthidium nasutum... those are two of my favorite species. Feel free to post any other natural history pictures you have as well!
I have a few corrections with IDs. Your first frog looks like Scinax elaechroa, while frogs 4-6 may be Craugastor fitzingeri. I believe your parrot snake is actually Leptophis ahaetulla, as it lacks a loreal scale, and perhaps the Imantodes is cenchoa?
Thanks for sharing.

Hi there, looks like you had a wonderful trip. I would be interested in hearing more about the places you visited. I agree with Brian on the frog and snake ID's. The "C. megacephalus" and the two frogs pictured below it are all C. fitzingeri, while the metamorph hylid above it, depending on the elevation is probably a Smilisca, perhaps S. phaeota? By what I can tell from your photos, you didn't get up to any high elevations? Your anoles apprear to be more polylepis and limifrons. Where were they found?

Thanks for all your comments!!! Still loving the site!
This Fer de Lance was seen not far from Sirena Lodge in Corcovado National Park. The guide said it was the biggest one he had ever seen. It had been in the same spot for over a week. What's the story with the 2nd Fer-de-Lance, it looks a monster?
Brian many thanks for the ID's - the frogs out there are all very hard to identify!!!I have a few corrections with IDs. Hi Don - thanks for the interest - We spent a full two months around Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Starting on the Nicoya Peninsula we headed north to Granada and Ometepe in Nicaragua and then back down to Arenal and La Fortuna, followed by Tirimbina Lodge (just up the road from Selva Verde and then onto a very wet Tortuguero!! Then followed a week in Cahuita (great place!) and then finished off with a week in Hacienda Baru (near Dominical - great lodge and great trails and a great guy running the place!) and a 5 day jaunt down to Drake Bay with a day trip into the Corcovado Park. Unfortunately we didnt get too much altitude but there will definitely be another trip planned as we fell in love with CR and also want to get down to Panama. How long have you been over there for?Hi there, looks like you had a wonderful trip. I would be interested in hearing more about the places you visited. I agree with Brian on the frog and snake ID's. What a lovely way to introduce yourself to the forum! Welcome!
Lots of pretty pictures of interesting animals! I'm especially happy to see the Imantodes, as I've a soft spot for those (sometimes impossibly) slender beauties.
