I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a good Texas herp field guide. I do have the giant "Snakes of Texas" book, but I'm looking for something a little smaller and that includes amphibians and other reptiles as well. I'm considering UT Austin for grad school and I'd like to get to know the herpetofauna down there, especially if I'm gonna get to check it out this summer. Browsing Amazon as I type this, but nothing in particular stands out. Hoping for specific, detailed range maps and/or county data if possible.
Thanks,
Ryan

Might have found one, but there are no reviews! Considering the Western Peterson guide as well.

I have that one. It's pretty good but it doesn't have any snakes in it. You could get it and then get Werler and Dixons "Texas Snakes" or Alan Tennant "Texas Snakes" to go with it.
