Arizona field guides?

Post by DracoRJC »

Hey all, I'm heading down to Tuscon and the Sky Islands region in May for a field course for my biology major, and although I have many a US field guide, I don't have an Arizona-specific one. I'm looking for good photography, up to date and specific range maps, and something under $40. Any recommendations? I'll be browsing Amazon, of course, but you guys know your stuff so I thought I'd ask here as well.

Thanks!

"Amphibans and Reptiles in Arizona" by Dr. Andrew Holycross and Thomas Brennan. Can be had for about 20.00 and is probably the best Arizona specific field guide out there.

The Venomous Reptiles of Arizona is awesome but has been out of print for sometime. Last time I checked copies were selling for $100 or more. If you can find a copy at a reasonable price, buy it.
