Bird Identifacation

Post by Ronquillo08 »

These are pictures of some birds I took pictures of here in Washington. I can use some Help on identifying them.

Harlequin Duck, Black-capped Chickadee, likely a Dark-eyed Junco, Belted Kingfisher.

He is...but you should send him a PM, or better yet put a question for him on the main Forum...he's not really a birder...

Brian,
In a sense you are correct. Since the deterioration of my hearing quite a number of years back, I stopped being a birder on a regular basis. I continued to belong to our local Audubon Society of Corvallis organization but haven’t participated in the annual Audubon Christmas count for better that 12 years or more. But as a kid, I once was an avid birder and was accepted as an honorary member of the Cooper Ornithological Society at UC Berkeley in the 1940s.

I began bird watching in about the 4th. grade in Oakland and it wasn’t until about the 6th. grade that I got into and hooked on reptiles. At any rate, being able to identify more common species is a throwback to my younger days.
