Hello everyone,
Thought I'd share some hummingbird snapshots from Costa Rica, nothing formal, just some neat birds with bright colors. I can't get enough of these birds' antics and interactions.
Rufous-tailed Hummingbird (Amazilia tzacatl)
Scintillant Hummingbirds (Selasphorus scintilla) measure a mere three inches in size and are endemic to Costa Rica and western Panama. This is a female.
Green Hermit (Phaethornis guy)

Rufous-tailed Hummingbird (Amazilia tzacatl) This bird was photographed in Panama, not Costa Rica.
Green-crowned Brilliant (Heliodoxa jacula) This is one of the larger species in the area.
Hope you enjoyed!

Just brilliant. Perfect way to hold the Winter blues at bay. The in flight shots are excellent but my favourite has to be the male V.C.Woodnymph - the colours are so bright.
(We will be in Panama this time next week, fingers crossed for some hummers to watch!)
