ID help on wading bird...

I am pretty sure (nearly positive) it is a heron, also pretty sure it is a juvenile. From south east Mexico (Guerrero) Thanks in advance.

It is a Limpkin, a bird in the same order as the cranes, rails and coots.

Also not normally found here, that is why it is unfamiliar.

That's interesting. They are very common in the marshlands of the Yucatan and Tabasco. I've never seen one on the Pacific Coast of Mexico though.
