Spanish Mackerel

Post by Shane_TX »

I'm not sure why, but anything mackerel really sparks something in me. Perhaps it's the oily deliciousness of the Scomber variety, or maybe the hard hits of the Scomberomorus. In any case, once every decade or so, I stumble upon a good run:

The drum were fun and took hours, but c'mon, Spanish Macks!

A good day on the water.

Jewfish and big Bull Sharks are also there.....I presume they're almost always lost due to concrete/barnacle damage.

When I lived in Florida Spanish were the reason I kept soy sauce in my tackle box.
