A lot of field herpers seem to go fishing, or maintain aquariums, as much as they do herp! Any and all things fish are welcome in this forum.

Are the first two bowfins? The third a crappie ,correct? I've caught a couple that had no pattern except for a solid dorsal stripe.
I have very little in the way of fish pictures, I will try to change that.

First pic is an alligator gar then a bowfin and the last a black crappie with a black stripe down the back. The crappie like these are getting more common now since they seem to breed and pass this color phase along to their offspring.
Sorry I took so long to respond! The old fish forum needs some activity!

Blacknose Crappie are mostly what the DNR seems to be stocking here in Central Illinois. I've caught a couple hundred so far this year.
