Here is an inch long Pristimantis cerasinus, the Clay-colored Rainfrog, peeking out from under some leaf litter.

Rich Mountain salamander, a species endimic to a couple of peaks in west central Arkansas and east central Oklahoma.

Dunno what each of the scale's names are but they are on a Timber Rattler ;-)

Thanks for posting this. Is there a strong population? I had heard that only a few have been found, but that was a long time ago.

They are doing alright in their extremely limited range. The adults in particular are very difficult to find, and the act of searching for them can be destructive to the few streams they occur in, so that limits the number that have been found and photographed. The larvae are relatively easier to find.

The first photo was an adult male, here's a female for good measure.
