Yes, certainly hope the girl fully recovers. While the driver who hit her doesn't appear to have a stellar record, the article unfortunately doesn't provide much info. For example, did the girl slam on the brakes & get rear ended? Or did she run onto the road into traffic and get hit?
Not saying the girl is at fault but we've all seen people do risky things in the name of trying to rescue a turtle or snake off the road.

I have stopped my vehicle in the road and put my hazards on to move tortoises. There is a story that I just saw out of Canada about a woman who stopped her car on the highway for some ducklings, and is now facing life in prison because a motorcyclist riding with his daughter slammed into the back of her and he and his passenger both died. There is a message here for both sides to be careful on the road!
