I do not know how to make those nifty columns. It would be an unholy mess. Somebody else please do this.

Re: National Database Contest Results
Looks like you're doing a great job...but you only need to list the top 5 in each category...and I'll tell you in advance that I won the new counties category...LOL
Re: National Database Contest Results
Should we should add DOR's to the annual scorecard, to encourage more DOR entries?
What does everyone think?

PS Shouldn't there be a total Points category?

Great idea Brian. I'm all for including DOR's.
Re: National Database Contest Results
I don't even know what the rules are for this. I thought it was just based off of total entries, so I threw up the top ten real quick. In my chapter, we have a bit more complicated of a system where certain things are worth certain points.

Each category is worth 1 point, you add them up for total score.
Bobs top score does not match Tamaras top score. I guess you each are using a different scorecard.
Re: National Database Contest Results
If someone wants to tell me where the actual rules are, I can work something up.
...Tamara used an "observed" scorecard, I think. I used an actual entered in 2012 scorecard that counts historic and current. I'm assuming mine was the correct one, if someone can confirm.

Re: National Database Contest Results
Actually both are correct.. But usually we use the observed scorecard.

Re: National Database Contest Results
Oh, well the observed card, I could add 50 today from December and it would change. I didn't think we were doing that. Am I wrong?
Re: National Database Contest Results
We usually run the scorecard until the end of January so people have time to add all of their previous years records.
Re: National Database Contest Results
Oh, then ignore my list. In the NE, it is cut off at the end of the year. I couldn't remember how it was done nationally.
Re: National Database Contest Results
No there used to be a historical scorecard results too.. It's ok to have both results.

Re: National Database Contest Results
I only chide Tamara a little because I enjoy her competition. She and her husband are on fire for the database, but I have to keep up the competition for the fun of it... and because of my numbers, I don't feel right about posting the totals...
Re: National Database Contest Results
I like to tease you too Senior Hubbs, after all thats all we have left as you win most categories..
Don't get all butt hurt.. jk LMAO..

Hubbs, I call BS on this:
Like all of a sudden you have become a modest, humble individual who is loathe to toot his own horn? Puh-leeze.and because of my numbers, I don't feel right about posting the totals...

Re: National Database Contest Results
I've always been a modest, humble person...I have no idea what you're talking about...
The contests really don't motivate me...there's really no competition out there...I just enter data to make the rest of you feel bad.
Hell, I didn't even try last year...I was on break...how does that make you all feel...over 2,000 records without even trying...
Want to see me try?
Looks like Tamara took a break too, she had over 300 county records in 2011 and over 1,300 entries. I guess we both needed a rest...

Re: National Database Contest Results
Bottom line is, I'm not tallying and posting the rest of the scores. I didn't want to do it in the first place, and I make it a general policy to not do anything I don't want to do when I'm not at work. I don't know how to do it efficiently, so it becomes this laborious hand-writing and retyping task. Someone with superior computer knowledge could certainly do it more quickly/efficiently.
I spent last week scoring several hundred tests. I'm not scoring/tallying another cotton-picking thing. Not trying to be ugly or obstinate, but that's just the way it is. I am plumb tallied out. I don't care if the scores get posted or not.

Woohoo. Top ~12 for total counties. Does someone have a link to these data so we can sort/filter by the various categories?
Thanks,
Chris
