I wish it was more like the amphibian tree of life site.
That has to be an incredible amount of work, though.

Yes... Yes it is... not that I would know anything about that at all....

http://test.vm.psyon.org/herplist/taxon.php

This is based of a book published in 1997. All Genus from that book are there, but I am still working on species. After it matches the book, I will update it and add synonyms.

Oh, and just for good measure, here is the list in the rough format the book is, but generated from what I have in the database so far.
http://test.vm.psyon.org/herplist/book.html

I have herplist.org registered. This is something I have been working on when I get a few minutes here and there. Of course, the big question is, why bother when the reptile database and amphibian tree of life already exist? The hope is to provide an easily parsable list of herps for people who need it for computer projects, or just to print off because they are bored. Also, a better species search function, kinda like my auto complete box I was working on (didn't think that was only for NAFHA did you?), would help people learn about new taxonomy, and match it up with old synonyms.

Years ago wasn't this called the TIGR database? It hasn't changed much since then.

Both of those are way too confusing. I like ours. Simple and good. :)

That's because it includes herps Brian has never heard of because they don't occur in the US.

Does that mean you don't like this list - http://reptile-database.reptarium.cz/ad ... mit=Search

Actually reptile-database.org is an awesome resource for getting herp lists, etc., for other areas you are visiting. It is also a good resource for finding taxonomic names as it is updated reasonably frequently and you and search for old names to find their current names.
