2017 Chapter Officer Nominations Needed

Post by Fundad »

Hi All,

2017 Nominations have to be had or NAFHA will have to close shop.

We have no structure anymore.

We have NO IC.
No DC

If Chapters cant keep Presidents and IB Members if chapters, there will be no NAFHA.

Is it time to Close UP shop, forums, and chapters? Or Do we want to continue?

Yours Truly

California Chapter President.

Brian,

You will always find willing participants in the SE Chapter (myself included), but without someone steering this ship like an organized non-profit should be, the problems will persist. We have Presidents and IB members but it's all in name-only. No one is held to any standards, and the expectations for those positions are few. I'm not pointing fingers, as I want NAFHA to succeed (along with HERP, even though it's separate), but we can't just plug names against positions and pretend that everything is functioning as it should. There is so much good that this group can do, but it is going to require effort on behalf of those who are willing to put the work in. We need to find those people, get them some actual roles and responsibilities, and then oversee and evaluate a real effort towards a common purpose.

We do need to find some people willing to do the roles. I had plans to be very involved, but one difficult pregnancy culminating with a new daughter with disabilities made NAFHA the last thing on my mind - Taking good care of her is priority #1.

Everyone says writing a dissertation is the 'year you disappear'. Well I'm back. I am looking for a job/career and filling out applications do take a while, but I feel like I should have time to organize a meeting or something in 2017. Who knows though - maybe I get a hired somewhere that demands 80hr work weeks :/

Regardless of my previous post, I will throw my name in to the hat for whatever roles need to be filled for the SE Chapter. I'm far away from most other chapter members, but I'm still 15 miles within the chapter's geographic boundaries!

Good to hear there's some interest this year. Who wants the helm?

I don't want to be Prez and heaven knows I don't want to be IC, but I can fill a lesser role if needed.
