If your animal has some version of hypercalcemia, it can be mitigated, it can get better. Besides lipid deposits metabolic byproduct can accumulate in the organs and the eyes become windows to condition.

If I were you I would switch to uvb sources of d3 provision as a safer and self regulating form of its provision. It may not get better but it may stave progression

Dont stop treating the eye and do the full series of the meds prescribed. The only harm that could come with empirical treatment would be to stop it prematurely. No matter what the exact cause is. It's not a healthy development.

I dont have alot of money but I would be happy if any of my tax dollars went to grants to pay scientists to study this and any herpetological/ecological/biological hygiene endeavor.

I dont think overkill in applying biological hygiene is ever wasted energy. Not eating Doritos with dirty hands just because Im a mammal, is a rough example, but a problem avoided is never rewarded, but still the way to go.

The ringneck snake eating a snake makes that most likely, instead of a freak eating event and looking more like a standard snake in a clearer pic but could someone apply some clarity to me about the cryptic banded sand/ground snake species of SW?

In the link pic i can easily see the scalation, eyes and even head musculature of the Grey Snake, even the slight compression of the banded snake being eaten.
