Nice job Zach... I'm a neighbor up north in Mendocino County. Them SF Garters are absolutely spectacular... I just have to see one in person one day. I have relatives, in fact, I am born and raised in San Jose, CA -- Lived in Ben Lomond and Felton, SC County too for 10 years back in 1980 thru 1990....

This same exact thing happened to a small CalKing I had a few years ago. Ate a pink, started seizing up, spiraling, knotting itself, and just like that, dead.

I wear 14i Doc Martens, jeans, and always bring my Hex-Armor Gloves and hook with me when I am out in the field, especially where rattlesnakes are present. There are plenty in the SF Bay Area, especially up north in Marin County. As for your Rubber Boa- they are still out and about. For Marin County...
