San Francisco moisture condition?

I'm considering a drive to Santa Cruz Mountains with hopes of photographing the Black Salamander and Gabilan Slender. At my house in SoCal this year it was dry-dry-dry! But how are the moisture conditions in San Fran/Santa Cruz, did it get much rain this year?

Went out last week with SurfnHerp and didn’t see a single horned lizard or large lizard species (i.e., Collared, Chuck, Leopard). However, I think they will all start popping up soon. There has been great spring weather in SoCal lately, in spite of the lack of moisture.

I have to reconsider my thoughts about the California desert this year. I normally hold off until April to start heading to the deserts.
