A Dream Come True in Borneo!
Hey guys and gals, its been a while since I posted anything. I spent the past 6 months or so in Asia mostly doing fieldwork in Borneo but with some memorable side trips as well. I was hoping to do a post but I'm leaving to go to Ecuador for another 6 months in about a week, with 1000s of photos to g...

Crap, my wife is 100% Russian though being adopted at age 14 into an american family speaks very good english I doubt that would be an issue at all. I'm Russian and while I have no accent having grown up in the states I didn't make it any sort of secret that I spoke russian and didn't think twice a...

Yes. Supposedly some of the provinces on the Malaysian border are considered unsafe, I don't know as I haven't been in those areas... but the rest of Thailand is pretty tourist safe.Would it be a safe place to travel, us being American?

Got alot these past few months in Borneo. Some of the more exciting ones for me were Marbled cat, banded linsang, common porcupine (asian variety), brush tailed tree shrew, island flying foxes. There were more but I can't recall right now, i'll make a borneo post once I process photos.

I have a Fenix hp15 and it worked great until one day it didn't. Tragic news, Carl was a great guy always enthusiastic and a lot of fun to be out in the field with. Well, species may be common in some places and rare in others, that's for sure. I found ONE cat gecko in roughly 400 search hours (!) on the Santubong Peninsula, Sarawak. And I did a lot of nicht searches there. Yeah I got zero in a few months in the Bornean jungle (Sabah), not sure the exact hour ...

Present actual evidence not just that herp poaching exists (which we all know to be the case) but also that it's genuinely significant in scope and I'll readily change my view. Not until. To those who think it might have been a racoon or a bear? There are no bears in Kansas, that I know of, and if a raccoon had flipped the rock, he would have eaten the snake, right?
