As I pointed out in my response, you can't host them on soundcloud. Soundcloud won't let you embed them like that. Soundcloud does offer embedding but their format doesn't work here. I don't think you can link Soundcloud files here. I have never been able to make it work. To include an mp3, you just need the URL of the mp3. I agree. Even though it looks a bit like D. ebracatta and D. microcephalus, in that area I think it would be D. phleboides.

Did you hear it calling? That may help distinguish the species.

If you think about it....why wouldn't they be able to? Are you implying they don't have the musculature to do it or that the shape of their vertebral articulations prevents it? I would say they can strike up as easily as they can strike down.

I think it has always been known by more than once common name. Since most of the local discussion of this gecko is probably in French or local north African languages, I suspect there are many regional differences in what it is called and where. Common names are obsolete anyways, atleast for herps....

I was going to comment that your Trimorph taxonomy was outdated, but someone else sort of beat me to it.

The AZ snakes are T. lambda except for the T. wilkinsoni that occur in the SE. I think you have photos of each.

The only ones I have ever seen (one species) have been AOR/DOR at night after heavy rains in the tropics. They have been in both "pristine" habitat and degraded habitat (i.e. pasture land).
