Buddy lives in Portal and is all over this thing.

He says it is already priced out of his affordability range.

I guess they have 2 "prebids" over $500K at the moment.

I would give them $150K max 8-)

If it is anything like a blue chondro, it is probably a female.

That was a fun video.

That snake makes me nostalgic for the days back in the 1970's when it wasn't too uncommon to find a 6 foot plus gopher snake in LA.

Now, it is hard to find a 4 footer.

That lizard looks pretty robust for a C. tigris.

I didn't know amievas lived in Baja, but if Jeff says they do, I am gonna go with Jeff.

If Spiny tailed iguanas can live at the tip, than why not amievas?

Population densities need to be high enough so that males can find females to breed to. Typically, in the breeding season, females crawl around leaving a scent trail behind them to lure males. Males then crawl around and pick up and then follow the scent trail to the females. Or, the female just han...

Give yourself credit for learning snake behavior.

You now know how and when to find certain snakes better than you did years ago, hence, you are crossing paths with them more often.

imo, there are no rare snakes, only snakes that you have not yet figured out how to find.

If a snake was truly "rare", the males would not be able to find the females to breed and they would go extinct. ;)

I think the fact that the dense rain forest is blocking out most of the sunlight is largely responsible for the low density of snakes. Go to areas on the edge of the rain forest and you will likely find more snakes. Or, chop a tree down and see the snakes that were basking in the sun near the top of...

As a kid, 4 foot helleris were common in Los Angeles and 6 foot Pits were everywhere.

I saw some BIG Nile crocs in Kenya and they couldn't have been more than 13 or 14 feet.

22 feet would be ridiculous.

All you need to do is catch a flight to Miami and drive about an hour.

You can see pythons bigger than that in the wild relatively easily :-)
