There are bats and pack rats in the caves. The guide said she usually sees them during the spring when the bats and rats are rearing their young. She also said they got up to 4 and a half feet long :?

That last picture looks like the herper equivalent of a jar full of jelly beans where we win something by guessing the correct number of snakes :shock: I think I might just pass out if I ever flip some AC and see that many snakes all at once. Very nice :thumb:

Unfortunately I need to bail on the next group trip. I am really bummed about it too. I just can't make it happen this time due to things that are out of my control. I wish everyone that goes lots of luck and I hope to see lots of great pics when you get back.

I have heard they are very similar to long toed. I have never gone over to find them though. I have actually seen people offer them for sale on CL out of Post Falls ID though. :roll: Coeur d'Alene and ID giants are on my target list to get pics of though. Hit me up when you are over this direction.

The last trip was pretty fun and way more people came than I was expecting. I wish I wasn't feeling under the weather during the last half of it though. I will be heading down with my son Fri Morning and Matthew will be meeting up with us a little later in the day. Sat should be decent for flipping, and Sun we will likely focus on salamanders. But we will just play everything by ear.

Scolpendrids are responsible for 'some' deaths. You don't really have to worry about dying though as that is not very likely to happen. I have read it is an extremely painful experience , but this this varries by species. The Giant Asian species are said to the worst.
