An odd thing, I was chatting to a stranger in a bar in Penang last week and he was telling me about the time he shared a taxi to Ranau with a couple of guys who had no leeches on their legs. He couldn't understand it!

You really found some excellent wildlife. Loved the shot of the Leopard cat.
Gaur are truly magnificent. I have never seen one in the wild but standing next to a massive bull at Melaka zoo with nothing but a couple of strands of wire between you is a humbling experience.

I'm sure it would have taken me weeks to come up with that one. Having just checked the distribution map on amphibiaweb it looks like I can stretch the border of it's distribution by a few miles.

Help with snake ID please.
Anyone able to ID this small brown snake photographed in central Thailand a few days ago. It was about 12 -14 inches long with white bands. I stayed in Langkawi back in May 2006, it is a lovely island. Due to the tropical climate there will be plenty to see. On the birds: I agree the first is a barbet. 2nd is a Shama, possibly white-rumped. They are on the postage stamps of Malaysia. 3rd is a white-throated kingfisher. 4th is some kind of plover.
