Re: panorama help (ChrisH, I need your help)

When I ran the shadow/highlight tool, getting the foreground where I wanted had too much of an unwanted effect on the darker clouds in the sky, I'd have to use the magic wand or something else to isolate the foreground before I did that which would work I suppose, but takes time. I am probably going...

Re: Repost, herping early 2010 DUW

It's all good, species didn't change the fact that we saw two in that area and both of them were near 4 feet in length and had a bunch of color creeping up the sides from the bottom like in that picture, I really like Masticophis :D

Yeah Ross the post is here, viewtopic.php?f=2&t=135

I have more pictures of it but I think I only posted one of it, it was wicked and if I had room at home, it might have ended up as a founding stock breeder for some high pink striped whips

LOL @ Mongo!!! I think Sean is like 6'8". I am 6'2" almost 6'3" on a good day, and he makes me look short, and I make Josh look short, They are funny when they stand next to eachother with nobody else around, like this shot, with a 52 inch gopher snake (huge for Washington) Sean had to crouch on his...

panorama help (ChrisH, I need your help)

OK, I posted this before the crash, and the feedback I got was helpful even though I haven't made any changes yet. I agree the foreground needs to be a bit lighter exposure, and there is an abrupt transition about a 1/3 of the way from the left side where I just can't get the transition to be easier...

Re: Okanagan valley snake ID

I am positive that's a yellow belly racer, Coluber constrictor mormon. You can see little to no pattern dorsally, a bluish tint on the side, and a yellow belly.

repost; Turtles, Birds, and Greatorade, DUW

I went to some local wetlands I had never visited because a coworker told me about a bunch of turtles that had orange shells. Hoping it was painted turtles and not red ears, I went, camera in hand. This first shot is actually 2 shots that I "spliced" together, and was the first view of turtles I had...

repost; Reds in NorCal DUW

Since I have just gotten back from Snake Road, So. Ill. and had a few hundred shots to go through to make that post, I figured now was as good a time as any to catch up on last month's field trip. It is quickly becoming an awesome tradition for the four of us (Mack, Josh, Sean, myself) to head down ...

repost; Illinois extravaganza! DUW

I just recently took a trip to the state of Illinois to visit friends (both humans and scaly ones) and as usual, the trip was pretty awesome. The herps found ranged from common to ninja. Due to the onslaught of strong thunder storms, the variety was ok and the numbers were a bit low, but the experie...

another repost; Sorry ahead of time to BatrachoFANS. To keep up with my challenge of herping all 12 months of the year I headed toward the Washington-Oregon border with josh (steelherper) this last weekend to see what was moving. We knew that amphibians would dominate the species count, but Josh and...

Repost, herping early 2010 DUW

I am reposting these from another site I had posted them, just to get some field post history built up quickly, if nobody minds. I am only doing 2010 field posts for now though. So I just realized I need to post these as spring is approaching and I don't want to fall behind. Already got a couple lif...

Re: Back in US and hittin the Gorge

Too bad, it looks really fresh... WHERE in the gorge are you hiking and finding 4 night snakes? I am jealous, I guess I don't flip the right rocks for those guys because I only find them cruising. I'd really like to flip some or find them on the crawl. (and I wasn't expecting a reply with locality, ...

I am sorry Joshua, but even in my alcohol and zonata induced excitement of the weekend in question, I am pretty sure I remember you not copywriting, trademarking, or otherwise legally taking ownership of said statement, so I feel that you are lacking in any grounds to claim said quote.

Re: new registration suggestion: Use your real name.

Well I pretty much have always used my real name, but I dropped my birth year, since I have decided it's about time I stopped announcing it and started renouncing it. I some how forgot to put a space in there, but oh well it's not like there's another Andy O'Connor out chasing snakes very often.
