Well Josh you certainly have some great reptiles and amphibians down there and well photographed.

The Yellow Rat Snake seems to go on forever in the first shot. Also enjoyed the grumpy Southern Toad.

Maybe let it get off the ground into a low tree or bush. Somewhere it can't get out of reach. It works with some snakes. - Good luck.

The audio of the frog chorus is so loud. Sounds like a Kaloula pulchra in there 'mooing' as well.

Interesting stuff. It's always good to see how far advanced things are in other parts of Europe.

Our own adders were supposedly showing in mid-January down on the south coast. The weather in the UK is very confused at present.

Hi Bryce, looks like you are in for a fantastic time. Check back on the forum for previous posts on this subject. As VanAR states, there are some good trails around Tortugero which can be accessed from the beach. Also several lodges can hire/lend canoes which allows exploration around the riverbanks...

Good luck on getting an ID on this one. - Try iSpot.

Do you ever find any of the Katydids with pale blue legs and crimson inner wings in Sarawak?
They seemed quite common on the peninsular but I still cant manage to tie down an ID on them.

I think the first un-named frog (Following the Retic) is probably Pulchrana glandulosa - The Glandular Frog.

The second one is Hylarana (Rana) erythraea - Green Paddy Frog.

Interesting post and great photos. The Platyceps collaris is a great find. Our own time spent herping in Bulgaria drew a blank for this species.
