What county is the elapsoides from? Keep an eye out for them in the North East part of NC and get lots of good photos... they get weird around there. Great post- I'm glad it got brought back- I missed it the first time around.

The only deaths I've heard about from copperheads were the result of anaphylaxis, which could lead to heart failure. The short time frame makes me think that, or he got hit in an unlucky spot (vein, artery, etc.). Copperheads are deadly to at least some percentage of people if you factor in the poss...

awesome! oddly enough, cave salamanders are one of the only species I've seen out in the day time like that. I'm not sure if you posed it or not but it def reminds me of many of the times I've found them. I also really like that first bender trophy shot.
