Re: Need a Quick ID in Guatemala!
Too bad I couldn't have gotten better pictures of it. This was in Rio Dulce. Only snake I saw and now I am heading to Santa Elena for 2 weeks. Hopefully better luck there. I knew that the only venomous snakes in guatemala were vipers, crotalus and coral and I knew it wasn't a viper but I didn't know...

Re: Need a Quick ID in Guatemala!
Well, internet sucked and I couldn't prove to them it wasn't a viper so they had a go at it and it got away but im pretty sure they injured it. Probably won't live. I hate it when people just assume all snakes are venomous. :( :( :( Thanks for your reply gbin. Maybe I can show them the difference an...

Awesome report - took me back to when I was there, and your story telling was hilarious  Shame you missed out on the pythons at the cave, a friend was there about 3 weeks ago and they managed to find ten pythons (though no monsters) and two green pitvipers, but I think there's a lot of luck in...

Look into Komodo Cruises with Jan or Ron or Divine Diving.
They are both reputable companies from what I have heard.
I have talked to both of them and the people in it are very knowledgeable.

Hello all! This last week I took a trip to Indonesia, more specifically Flores Island to do a little herping and see the infamous Komodo Dragons. I didn't find as many herps as I would have liked to but I did get to see the Komodos on Rinca Island (one of the islands in Komodo National Park). Here a...

I am definitely looking into car rentals for some day/weekend trips.
What are the land rules around here? In New Mexico if there isn't a gate or a sign you just have to look out for gun toting farmers.

Alright, So we have had quite a bit of rain up here in Northwest New Mexico(The first monsoon season in years). At least a lot for this area. Bull snakes schmull snakes
So everyone turns their nose up when they see a bull snake/gopher snake because let's face it they are pretty close to the most common snake in the United States(and elsewhere too). Also they are probably the slowest moving snake, because of their size they are really easy to capture or photograph. ...
