Wow incredible post one of the best I've ever seen on here! Really amazing shots and diversity. I can't believe all those banded rocks you found. I really love some of the funny/creative shots in this post too, the diamondback curled up around the Tecate was a hilarious shot among many others.

I have talked with a couple herpetologists and several other knowledgeable people about this topic. All of them said that adult were far more dangerous, they have a much longer strike range, capable of injecting a TON more venom, longer fangs etc.

Cool stuff!! That grasshopper is actually a Shield-backed Katydid also called Mormon Crickets.
I see tons of them on this 1 hike I go on here in AZ they're pretty creepy looking.

Really cool stuff man and doesn't seem like that was easy to find. I've found a lot of Norpacs at my herp spot near my hometown of San Luis Obispo, CA they are like the most common snake there but I didn't know they were that far up north either.

Haha thanks! I know what you mean I haven't been sleeping much since I got here. Im so used to herping in the day in Central California that staying out til 3 am road cruising is quite a change for me.

Yeah I herp at Montana de Oro all the time I have a little spot there where I have found 6 rattlesnakes this year. All of them in that area are Northern Pacific rattlesnakes as far as I can tell ya PM me sometime when you're headed up here we'l go herping.
