Nothing says EDB to me in this individual or any of the others I've seen in Texas.

One of your herpers in Team B is a local and I would be happy to herp with all members of Team B. Several of them also are on my state scientific collecting permit to pick up roadkills so they can be deposited as voucher specimens at scientific institutions. Some of team B have also worked directly ...

Re: TX HB 1788 introduced
We (mainly my brother) have been pushing for a herp stamp in Texas for more than 20 years, so FHF may be able to claim the first internet suggestion of this but not the first suggestion of it in Texas anyway. We used to have a "wildlife stamp" back in the 80's and early 90's that we could ...

Thanks, for the trip report. Visiting places like that are difficult but often very rewarding and I don't just mean the herps.

Nice stuff. West Africa is a tough place to herp.
I would call that first skink Panaspis togoensis, but it looks a little different than the ones I saw in Benin.
I think the not a clue frog is an Arthroleptis sp.

Nice stuff Billy, that LBJ leopard is a southern, they are much more common than plains in that area.

Re: That Hard-to-Get Chick
While growing up in NE Texas. We used to find about 1 a year, never while specifically looking for them, but usually crossing some country road. Since I've moved to College Station my average is about 1 every 3 years, but only one of those has been very near College Station. Maybe I should stop and ...

I've been looking for good non-LED lights because eye shines are really hard to pick up on small animals with an LED. They seem to be fine for herping from a car but if your in a rainforest looking for frogs, geckos, and other night herps then give me an incandescent anytime. I've been thinking of g...

Re: Benin, West Africa trip results May-June 2010
We chose Benin because we had an in country contact who was able to get us Permits. He was a former graduate student at Texas A&M and recently came back for a visit and talked us into going. He also recently purchased a Toyota Hilux that we were able to use free of charge for the trip. On top of...
