Thank you for your reply Jeroen. Sadly I am not able to identify the frog in question. It seems to most closely approach Vanzolinius discodactylus. It is not Pseudopaludicola. The latter has a much smoother dorsal skin and does not have the ridges present on your find. It is also of a grayer color, ...

This is great, Matt. I think you could make a full post out of the Hyla leucophyllata/sarayacuensis/triangulum/bifurca group alone. There's no experience quite like seeing these tiny choristers vocalizing from their spots on the floating vegetation. dick

Young was a good friend who will be truly missed by all. He brightened several of our trips to Peru, was a friend to every traveler he encountered and was always ready to suggest and assist in all aspects in an always positive way. Condolences to the Cage family from Patti and me.

He and I have been to Barton Springs on many occasions, Mark, and while I don't pay a whole lot of attn to those creepy little 10 leggers, KW has probably done so. He has only recently gotten me semi-interested in them and we will probably now have to redo some of our nation wide criss-crosses. dick
