Re: Garters Anyone?
Jimi, the way you say "cows" sounds a lot like "Kous" And in Europe there is a fanatic, but not that big group of people who are in to Thamnophis in a serious way. But that is no different in the USA, I think. Of course there are many people who buy one or two of these colorful s...

Re: Narcisse Snake Hibernaculum - Road Mortality Prevention
Thanks for this interesting post! I the Netherlands we do this kind of thing in spring to prevent that toads and frogs become roadkill when they go to the water where they were born. And that works perfectly.

Re: We need more garters and browns!
I do not have pics of Thamnophis from the wild (unfortunately there are no gartersnakes living in the wild in the Netherlands). But I can show some animals that I keep and breed at home... http://www.kousebandslangen.nl/indexdiavoorstelling.gif http://www.kousebandslangen.nl/indexdiavoorstelling1.gi...

What a great journey his was, Kevin. Beautiful pictures.
The black-bellied Garter snake you found is, if you found it in Jalisco, the subspecies T. melanogaster canescens. Great snakes... I breed them at home.
