Awesome observation! Someone on here posted pics of a snake somewhere (i think it was a ratsnake) going into a hole under a bridge and eating a bat.. So I guess it's not entirely out of the question.

Not sure of anyone else but for me here in CO a grand slam would have to be a longnose, milk, and a king all in one day. You might even add a blackneck garter to that list. I think thats about as good as it gets here for me anyway (eastern slope).

Monster pit

Went out cruising tonight and found a monster pit. Gonna wait till tommorrow and get some pics and then release. This is it in a big 32 gallon sterilite, notice the missing tail. My guess is about 6 - 6 1/2 foot without tail, about as thick as a baseball bat. Was fun to get off the road in traffic. ...

I was chasing a maculata one time and got right behind it and dove for it. I landed on a cluster of prickly pear but i got the lizard. I also had to tweez my thighs and shins and forearms for about 3 weeks after that. still have scars.

Thanks for the tips guys it's a 2 acre lot with tons of unattended property around and the ground there is always moist. I laid about 30 boards along fences, trees, in the open, and other places and maybe I can come up with some patterns or something for where they prefer.
