That was one heck of a trip! Congrats on that big Pygmy rattler, what a find! Spotted skunk is the cherry on top. Looks like I should have started my trip a little earlier, currently hunkered down in the SUV waiting for this storm to pass. Thanks for sharing!

Re: A few blurry pics from Sonoma County earlier in the year

Thanks all. The Sonoma Coast offers some interesting pockets of diversity especially for the amphibs. (waiting for the rains). I will be heading back up to the Sonoma Coast somewhat soon but for now I am packing for 10 days in S.E AZ! Catching the tail end of the monsoons but just in time for the ba...

Excellent post! Great to see people having a productive year despite the conditions. Nothing like putting in the time and miles and being presented with a new herp spot! Congrats on that!

Re: Tell Us Who You Are

Hey everyone! My name is David and I like long walks in desert washes at night, slow drives on remote roads late into the evening, and difficult hikes into beautiful herp habitats. I have to be honest, I no longer live in Arizona but consider AZ my second home and will be moving back. I lived up in ...

Re: Tips, any advice on when and where to find CA Nightsnake

Hey Jared, If you are cruising the roads I think you are cruising you will eventually hit the brakes for one. Certain sections of certain roads will be more productive than others. As many have said the rocky habitat seems to be the most productive. Also, on THOSE roads I have seen them later in the...

Questions about Eastern TN

Hi all, I will be spending the next 10 days in the Pigeon Forge/Sevierille/Gatlinburg area and am hoping for a little guidance. I am interested in photographing anything and everything as this will be my first extended trip in that region, looking to get some lifers here. I am new to the forums but ...
