Finally located some Columbia Spotted Frogs (at least I'm pretty sure that's what they are) a week or two ago accidentally while fly fishing. I knew this canyon had them just never really looked. Also found a wandering garter today and two others earlier this week. It has been a warm fall. They aren...

Speaking as someone who was bit by an adult rattlesnake, I would say that both are probably (haven't been bit by a baby and don't plan to) about the same intensity. For the same species at least. I always wondered and wanted to know the truth. Thanks for your answers.

Rattlesnake Myth?

Okay, I have been hearing this same thing for years and I bet all of you have too: "Baby rattlesnakes inject more venom because they cannot control themselves." I don't think this makes sense. Why would a snake with smaller venom glands inject more? Or am I misunderstanding something techn...

Yeah very sad what people think of venomous snakes. An animal has an extraordinary adaptation that humans kill it for having. I have a Grandpa who after I was bit by a rattler sat me down and tried to convince me snakes are "evil" and meant to kill you. He says he was chased down and had t...
