Definitely insular Epicrates-notice the lack of labial pits. Does not look much like angulifer, I'm going with Epicrates striatus.

What island is this from-takes me back to my youth visiting the big island (Andros)-Alsophis v. vudii was the most common snake encountered. Fast, variable, rear-fanged-but never bite.

I purchased the TK41 this Spring, and was able to use it on a Trans-Pecos trip in June. All I can say is that it is quite simply awesome. Unbelievable amount of light combined with an equally phenomenal run time. I have no criticism whatsoever. It turns a nighttime cut into day.

I've even had a snake die in the middle of oviposition, immediately cut out the remaining eggs and set them up for incubation. no luck.

Brings back memories-I spent much time on nearby Andros in the 70s and 80s. Interesting that the Alsophis and Tropidophis are still considered the same ssp. as are found on Andros (The Andros Epicrates, however is E.S. fowleri).

Falling barometer/low pressure tends to spur activity in most cold blooded critters. I think this is true for all animals and not just cold-blooded creatures. A) In September of 2007 I was cruising a favorite road in Kendall County when I came upon a BIG crossing Blacktail Rattlesnake. This was a fantastic county record, but it will forever remain a sight record only, as that was the only night that season on which I totally forgot to bring my camera :?
