Hi Patrick,
nice trip and beautiful pictures! And you've found even more than I did. And I travelled all alone just focussed on herping 24 hours a day

Re: Florida trip January 2019
Thank you guys for your comments! I'm glad you got a diamondback! This species is always impressive. It has been my second largest Diamondback ever! Be nice to do exactly the same in April or May; probability of target raised exponentially. Oh, i have already been there in April! The species were al...

Re: Florida trip January 2019
Hi guys, one more time I failed to find the pretty Rough Green Snake, but I found ten different snake species, of which I managed to photograph at least nine. I've hiked tons of miles and driven even more, I scanned bushes and trees at daytime and night, but I had no luck. This is a small selection ...

Florida trip January 2019
Hello, in January 2019 I am going to be for three weeks in Florida. Somewhere between Fort Myers and Lake Okeechobee and maybe the coast north of West Palm Beach. There is on single species that I really would like to see. I have tried several times in the past but failed ;-( I saw this species once...

Congrats to your finds!
Now I see, that even Brown Waters do cross roads. I've never seen that, altough I did a lot of road cruising. Did you find it at night?
And the third snake, is it a Striped Crayfish?
If yes, then I am jealous

Thanks so much for the compliments! @ Bill: Sorry, but I can't offer more Glass Lizard images, but the main thing is, that you agree with me, that I have taken shots of two different species. In the field I didn't realize that, because I never found two individuals at the same time. So maybe it is h...

Critters from South West Florida
Hi everyone, here are some herps from Florida (Highlands, Hendry, Collier County). I did not find too much, although I was trying one more time everything. Different habitat types at all times of day. Most specimens I found while road cruising. This state is too tidy. No ground cover ;-) Questions o...

Oh, you have lived in Germany! Almost without snakes, likely a very hard time for you.
Okay, if there isn't anybody in that region, I try to do a good job on my own and let you know what species I have found. One more time I expect at least 20 snake species
Regards,
Frank

Trip to South Florida in March
Hello guys, in March (8th to 22nd) I'm going to be in Southwestern part of Florida for herping. I'm interested in whole wildlife, but my main target are snakes ;-) There are still so many species missing on my list like King Snake, Scarlet King Snake, Coachwhip, Coral Snake, R. Green Snake (most wan...

However, R. Kelly is just so personally reprehensible (filming himself having sex with underage girls) and icky, I can't name an animal after him. Obviously this is untrue, because both the women and R. Kelly made sure that they were not the people shown acting in that video. He has not been convic...

The Mole King is my favourite as well. Beautiful snake. But where have you taken the photograph of the Roseate Spoonbills. They seem to be very tame. Moin all,
this Tree Frog I photographed few days ago in Hendry County (Florida):
The absense of a white stripe on the flanks makes me feel unsure. Could it nevertheless be a Green Tree Frog?

Florida
Hi all,
at the moment I think about a trip to Georgia or Florida in coming December. Does it make any sense to focus my interests on herps at that time of the year? Do all snakes hibernate or will there be a realistic chance to find at least one single specimen
