I'm down for anything as usual. Herping with Tony is always a blast lol! Whitewater was pretty interesting.
Tony is right, I believe that the reason most of us joined is to meet like minded people to get out there and go herp with!!

Re: Why do some feel the need to post localities??
That's a great idea Jim to keep both sides of the fence content as possible. Maybe an addendum that would state for any ideas or unsure of species if they have infact encountered a species out of it's range, perhaps PM an Officer, before posting??? or just post a poc of the Herp in the forums saying...

Re: Why do some feel the need to post localities??
Great Post! and Great paper Hellihooks! As i am new here and don't want to step on toes i will try to tread as "light" as possibly around this subject. I think some of the reasons herpers share local would be... 1) To help some of the newer herpers. There are a lot of newer herpers on thes...

Re: People really piss me off
It's pretty disgusting. I recently saw my first example of this. My fried and i were able to talk with the family but i'm not sure to what degree of effect our talk will have. I think as long as we have snakes, we will always have idiots trying to kill them for little or no reason.

I agreed with your first ID Fundad, you know what your talking about clearly by your experience (i'm still learning) . And in response to Brian Hubbs; i know it's pretty sad what ignorance will be the bearer of. We were fortunate enough to speak with the family and educate them.

Re: Herping A 500 Acre Ranch East Of Temecula!
Thanks for the ID Fundad and Jim. Apantaleo91's observation about the tail makes me wonder. Also i have heard (no personal experience) that Rubers don't have the red pattern when they are juvies as the one in the pic is, which is why (due to where it was found) i speculated that it might possibly be...

Thanks Squam, good advice. I think where we were in the High Desert it was a lot colder. I think on colder nights we might stick to the low desert or other spots (due to temp)

Herping A 500 Acre Ranch East Of Temecula!
On Thursday, Apantaleo91 (Tony) and myself were fortunate enough to be able to herp on a private ranch (a friend of the ex wife) just east of Temecula. What made it more interesting is the fact that the owner of the ranch has been seeing snakes there almost daily (possibly due to in part to the lake...

If any other mysteries need solving i will be available all night 8-). In all seriousness though, pretty cool track. Herp Trip With apantaleo91 to L.A County Mountains
Went last week with apantaleo91 (Tony) to the hills in L.A county, and then to the Desert area around Palm Springs road herping; found this Helleri on the very first flip of the day! Other then that, we saw a Racer that Tony was able to identify (found "racing" across a dirt trail late in ...
