I have had little success with boards in forested areas as Kyle mentioned. They seem to be really good in open sunny areas though. The way your cover is placed is critical in the species of snakes you'll find. If the tin is flat on the ground you'll find mostly kings, corns, and some burrowing types...

I believe we should be calling "crayfish snakes", "crawfish snakes" here in Louisiana. "Crayfish" is just wrong.
