Newts in seattle?
Sad to say I've only found 2 of these cool critters: ever. Fairly common and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for somewhere fairly close to Seattle? I know it's frowned upon to ask but anything with be greatly appreciated.

Re: In Arcadia for 3 days. Anyone want to show me something?
Sounds like you did pretty good all on your own! Have you properly introduced yourself? It would be a good idea to give everyone a little greeting, a little bit about you, where you're from, your Herping intentions. Most people here are reluctant to take out new people and show them their spots tha...

No photo but found a patch nose snake in California after going to a field by the warehouse my company bought. Flipping random boards and there was a flipped over garbage can lid. Flipped and bam 2 California racers and a patch nose. Very happy day for me. Carefully put the lid back and looked for h...

Well nobody offered up. But was able to locate a few western fence lizards, sideblotchs, California racers (3), nightsnake and a patch nose. 3rd time in California and still no kings. Maybe next year I'll get lucky.

Re: Snapping turtles in the Northwest?
It's the only species other than a night snake on my list for the Pacific Northwest. I think all the snappers in Beaverton have been killed off. I searched for a week last month for a sign of them and found none. I had them as pets in Iowa for years. That's my main reason for wanting to see one again.

Been a slow season
Found less snakes than normal this year. How's everyone else been doing? I did find a praying mantis! Did not know they lived wild in WA state. I'm hoping to find more before it gets cold. Been really good at hanging around the house and eating the flies that come in. http://i76.photobucket.com/albu...
