Old school digital tricks......i've been using a wonderbread sandwich box on my camera lens for years along with the icing cap from pillsbury cinnimon rolls over the flash.
The sandwich box is a $1.25 ringflash .....love it!

Glad everything worked out after a few unfortunate incidents. One rule to live by anytime you are traveling outside the U.S. Only leave in a car what you expect to be gone when you get back. I have left my gear under a camo tarp 10 ft from the car in the forest many times while herping. Anytime, any...

Is that the Mustang Ranch you're camping at? Lol.... I looked at those cot tents a while back in a few local stores and decided they were too bulky and heavy for real world use especially traveling 2-3 men on a trip. Space!! I went with a different system ...... A military style cot , 2 tent poles, ...

Re: It Ain't Easy Bein' Green...In Photographs. Why?
One thing I do know for sure from personal experience is that some leps and some specks I've found have changed color (intensity) right before my eyes. An animal at rest seems to be lit up like it was plugged into a wall socket but soon after being disturbed goes mute with much less intensity. A rec...

I don't think this post ever mentioned a preference towards any one device or technique . It was just looking into one of the more "cutting edge" tools. I use a hook, tongs, hemostats, tweezers, Hexarmor gloves, welding gloves and my hands depending on the species and scenario. I'm sure ev...

I see the same thing with AZ snakes.....sometimes!
I believe it's the lack of heat detection.

Re: HEXARMOR Gloves...... any negative experiences...I got o
I have no doubt that Hexarmor is a proven product but it's not the hexarmor that's the problem. It's the stitch where the agave and the needle entered. The needle entered with almost no pressure........... so it's a hole. Being a fabricator of bizarre things.............I guess you could apply crazy...

HEXARMOR Gloves...... any negative experiences...I got one!
Just wondering..........because I had an interesting experience with my new pair this weekend. Worn maybe 3 times. My left glove was on as I was rummaging around an agave .......I turned and zappo..........the end of the agave went right through the glove and into my finger drawing blood. The point ...
