So, he can't tail the krait, because that's free-handling. He can't hook the snake, because they don't stay on the hook (leading to a chance of loosing the snake). I've had this happened several times over the years - blind snakes are a particular nuisance for working their way out of a snake-bag overnight. Now, I either photograph them straight away, or keep them in empty bottles!
