Completely Spotless Spotted Salamander- (same as main forum)
I have seen many Spotted Salamanders that were nearly spotless. This is the first time i've seen one that is completely spotless. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1670/25404105440_a9f8591a9f_b.jpg 10646814_1009582702449307_6100392755246626486_n https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1507/25074418644_8bd855fd8...

I'm saying Cooter. I'm not an expert on Southern Florida or turtles for that matter, but I saw some very young red belly's and they look very different.Red Belly or Peninsula Cooter... you decide!

Re: A big Burmese python in Everglades National Park.
Was it euthanized or did you find it a new home? Odds are it was euthanized. I don't know exactly. It was turned over to the NPS. Hopefully, It will be studied and maybe some good can come if it. I know people have mixed feelings about that. I know I do. However, The snakes do not belong there and ...

Was this just found on the 9th? Also, what time/conditions was it if you don't mind? It was on the 2nd of February at approximately 11:00pm clear skies, and about 72 Degrees. It was an amazing animal. I know it doesn't belong there (and it is not anymore), but it is still a site to see. Id' say it ...

A big Burmese python in Everglades National Park.
I was road cruising through the Everglades and I saw this large Burm off the side of the road. I immediately said to myself that was a Burm. I then dismissed it as a downed tree. I whipped around and there was healthy looking, big Burmese Python http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a618/NEHERPS/Glade...

Great snakes everyone! I chose this Eastern hognose snake (Heterodon platirhinos) because it was a lifer for me. I flipped it in Luzerne County, PA. http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a618/NEHERPS/201309073_zps07692791.jpg This next Hognose was my first in my home state (Massachusetts). It was on a...

Great finds everyone!! My favorite find this year was a mother Timber with her babies (lifers). I took a trip down to PA with some friends purely to go herping. It was 6+ hour drive. I was surprised by my lack of Cottonmouths too. I found a ton of Watersnakes road cruising at night, but no Cottonmouths. There were a few snakes that could have been Cottonmouths, but it was dark and they took off pretty fast. I assumed they were just Watersnakes.

Before entering that as toad, I would try to go back and get a good photo of an adult. In North Central Pa, americanus would be most prevalent. I would not enter. I would think that it would be more valuable to have an entry of just a anaxyrus than it would be to have no entry at all. I agree he sh...

What about entering it just with just the genus (Anaxyrus) without the species. It's definitely an Anaxyrus.kyle loucks wrote:I would not enter that animal into the db... if you did, add the comment that it could be either fowleri or americanus.
My guess is Fowleri, but you can't be sure from these pics.
