I have previously observed similar behaviour by my knoblochi´s.
These two are supposed to be males (never sexed them myself), and I assume its a male combat and not mating behaviour?

Re: O p laticinctus hatching

laticinctus is a montane tropical species from Cameron Highlands just north of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Average daytime temps year round 75-80 (23-27 C), and around 53-60 (12-15 C) at night. So keeping the temps from rising is probably the biggest challenge, at least during hotter summer months. The p...

What I´ve read its important to feed smaller prey, and i usually give mine 3-5 fuzzies each feeding, and havent had any regurgitation at all. The temps are lower 80´s daytime and low 70´s at night. Summertime a bit warmer as the room gets warmer.

Yes they are Broadbanded Bamboo´s. They are actually quite easygoing, feed when offered, and breed on regular basis. I cooled them for about 3-4 weeks last winter (hi 50 to low 60´s), that seems to do the trick. And no additional heating other than a bunch of other terrariums in the same room. Heres...

Very nice! I haven't seen these before! Is this the species that requires lower temps than the average? They come from areas with cold winters, but the summers in amur-region are warm. Like all egglaying temperate ratsnakes they require a warm season for eggdevelopment. So this species can probably...

Thayeris in general are absolutely lovely to handel, never ever inclined to bite, I guess you really need to piss them off before that happens.

Got a 3,6 ft male thats a bit more erratic than the other but never any tendencies to strike or musk even right before or after feeding.
