I recommend the Outback Oasis in Sanderson, TX. The owners are well known herpers and they dont mind if there are (contained / controlled) snakes in the rooms. Roy and Ruth sold the Outback Oasis this spring and moved back to Kansas! I think I heard the next-door Desert Aire will be running it now.

I had (and still have!) the Zim/Smith guide, which for a young person was a little misleading for species identification due to the artwork, and some of the descriptions were disappointing as well. If I’m in a no reception area, it’s impossible to get an accurate pin because it just wanders all over the place searching for a location. It depends on your phone. Now that at least a couple of people have weighed in, both here and via email, A. velox is my thought as well. I saw a few individuals but only got pics of this one. Just going by gestalt, what species would you say this whiptail is? I don't want to give location yet, as it may influence the responses received. On Facebook a few months ago, there was a game-camera capture of a whiptail followed by a coachwhip in hot pursuit. If the AC is known to house herps, you could just go with an "always-on" camera recording in time-lapse mode (and checking it more frequently for useful footage). I've done t...

Consider an arid enclosure (e.g. a Southwestern US-type setup); dry environments can be easier to keep clean/hygienic as a consideration for maintaining multiple species. I've seen zoos keep 2-4 lizard species together in such an enclosure--desert iguanas, collared lizards, various spiny lizards, et...
