Re: Egg Mass ID help
I agree, probably chorus frog eggs. The egg mass is very small and does not have a layer of jelly around it as seen in Ambystomid eggs. The link Carl provided has some additional photos of chorus frog eggs in the comments. I'll probably add chorus frogs to the main body of the post soon.

Online fundraising campaign for Vermont salamander crossing
A town I used to live in has been working for years to protect populations of amphibians at a high traffic site that has one of the best spring migrations I've ever seen. Unfortunately, as traffic volume has increased over the years these populations are in rapid decline. The town of Monkton has rec...

Re: What's the warm winter going to do to the Spring Migrati
What makes you think this? Seems like you'll mostly get amphibians that hide out below the frost line (toads), hang out underwater (a few ranids), or simply freeze with ambient temps (woodies and hylids). Logically it would make sense for them all to go below the frost line and from what I read, th...

Re: What's the warm winter going to do to the Spring Migrati
Some amphibians have been seen crossing roads and driveways as early as a month ago in Vermont but only isolated individuals here and there. I would not expect any impact on populations but most of those early migraters will either die, need to hunker back down for a while, or lay doomed egg masses....

Yeah, it doesn't take much. That wasn't George's first bite and I would not be surprised if he's been bitten since. The finger hit in that video had limited mobility due to a prior bite making it more difficult for him to property grasp the snake. That being said, some other snake managed to get him...

It should be said, however, that if this reform at Claxton is successful that Whigham may follow. Both roundups have suffered decreasing numbers of rattlesnakes year after year.
