Re: Ideas for low light macro
One useful trick that can help your camera focus in the dark is to use one of those novelty laser pointers with the projected "shapes". I found one once that projected a tic-tac-to board shape and it was a perfect shape for a camera to focus on. Anything that projects a series of lines wo...

Re: Fill flash for daytime shooting
A great way to blend harsh light, with shadows, is to use a diffuser panel. This will lessen the effects of the harsh light, which will make it easier to take a photo with more balanced lighting. The addition of fill flash can really make the image stand out. Finding the right balance of lighting, i...

A word of caution, the higher the magnification, the smaller your depth of field becomes. Here is an example of the DOF at 1:1 magnification.

Over Christmas I got the Nikon D3200 kit. It's a good camera but I'm disappointed in its weak pop-up flash. Since I use a flash diffuser, this weak flash does not work as well as I need it to. I'm looking for an external flash that is cheap, but still powerful enough for night photography. Yonguo s...

Re: What can i do to improve?
I love the Owl Silhouette! Both the snake, and the Owl have color balance issues (too blue) for my taste. For me, the other two photos have too much of a "Spotlight Effect." I assume both were taking during the night, using a flashlight? Try diffusing the light, in order to capture more of...
