You know I am a big fan of your work and watching your skills develop is awesome! Seeing it all in one place like this really drives it home though. Great job, great year.

Re: Herps in the Home
I am an American ex-pat with a Mexican wife. I do photography (mostly weddings and surf, some commercial) and website design. My wife is the GM of a boutique hotel. We do worry about the cats but they seem to have a handle on things, though they get pinched by the crabs sometimes. I actually forgot ...

Re: Herps in the Home
Here is a thread I can definitely contribute to. I live in Southern Mexico in a semi-jungle habitat. Our house has a certain "open air quality" to it, though it is screened. Somehow a pretty wide menagerie of animals manages to get inside. Often the amusement or dismay of my two indoor onl...

Re: Canon mid-level DSLR
I just picked up the new Canon 70D. Only had it about a week so far but I think it is an excellent camera. It has a lot of features that have really set the bar on Prosumer level DSLR's.

Re: Who wants to help me ID shore birds?
Very helpful Andy. The reason I thought the front two birds in #2 are different is the very different nostril area. One has a deep groove, the other no. After reviewing the photos from yesterday, I realize I have yet another tern species. Very different head pattern. http://i306.photobucket.com/albu...

Re: Who wants to help me ID shore birds?
#4 is a decent size bird. Smaller then a willet.
The sanderlings are tiny.
I lean towards elegant on the tern, but obviously I don't know for sure.
Thanks! Anybody else? Pete? Chris?

I think Hawksbill is a real possibility. I didn't give them much thought because it is not a turtle we see here. But after googling their track I see a couple of images close enough to make think probably. Thanks all

Sea Turtle tracks identification
In the mornings when I walk the beach I enjoy seeing the tracks of the turtles that have nested the previous night. Pretty much they are all the same, Olive Ridley's. Our most common turtle. This morning I came across 3 sets of different tracks. These are much narrower, 2 ft or less, they have a dif...

Interesting Great Blue Heron behavior
While I did find other examples of this online, I have never seen this before and thought I would share. It is definitely sunning, apparently parabolicly. It stayed this way over 15 minutes, adjusting to the suns angle.

Anyone help with the ID? I believe it is a harvestman? And I seem to remember reading somewhere you DO NOT want to get bit by one.
